The Heart of the Issue
by Pastor Shawn Robinson
Like me, you probably have watched the devastation in New Orleans this past week. What is even more disheartening has been the outbreak of violence that many have said is worse than the actual storm. More...
Be a Blessing
by Pastor Scott Downing
Shawn has called us to be a blessing. And it might be that our first thought is to look for a person or group that needs a blessing. Lord knows, these last weeks have brought forward many that need an abundance of blessing through our prayers and our wallets. More...
Greetings from Worship Arts
by Mariko Giverink
Summer has been fun and busy for the worship team, yet also filled with challenges and pain. We kicked off our summer with some great team events. Scheduling team times together helped us stay connected as we all tend to go our own separate ways and disconnect with one another during these busy months. More...
Five17 High School Ministries

Hope everyone had a great summer. We in Five17 had a blast! And we have an exciting year ahead of us beginning with a Fall Schedule that seeks to bless our surrounding community. More...

What an amazing summer we had this year! We met every Tuesday at the church offices for our bible studies and we are looking forward to restarting on Wednesdays after school from 3:30-5pm. Our Great America Day and Capitola Day was so much fun and our Thursdays spent at Diamond Terrace doing nails for the elderly was a definite highlight! More...

We had a busy and a fun filled summer; here’s what we’ve been up to and what’s coming up: * The first Men’s Ministry golf tournament was held on July 23 @ the Boundary Oaks golf course in Walnut Creek. We had about 30 players show up, had a lot of fun and fellowship, and the best news is we raised $700 for the Missions Ministry. More...

Greeter Ministries
by Brenda Ameli
I remember I was puttering around in my kitchen one afternoon when I heard the jangle of keys and clattering of the front door being opened. Our middle son, Kian, came bursting in, plopped his backpack down, kicked off his flip-flops and stomped upstairs with a puzzled (and annoyed!) expression on his face. More...
Dance Ministries
by Brenda Ameli
The Dance Ministry at Clayton Community Church is in constant motion! As in dance, some movements are fun and joyful while others express deeper, more difficult feelings. This new season, the ministry sends off two of our beautiful, beloved dancers, Anna Gibbons and Amy Cleland to Cal Poly and Questa College. More...
Blessing In Action
by Kathy Herrera
I am so glad to have an opportunity to say "Hi" to you. I have not seen many of you for several months. It actually feels like much longer! After a year of doing chemotherapy, every two weeks, with only one five week break, I have become tired. It is not that my faith has failed me or that I'm not still standing in it, in fact it is much deeper and stronger than it was before. More...
Another Blessing In Action
by Annette Fregosa
My name is Annette Fregosa. I'm 45, divorced, and have two boys, one 23 and one 16. I live with my youngest son, Bob Tindall, in Concord. I'm the CEO of my home and I'm on Social Security Disability due to my bad back. This has been and is a blessing in disguise, for I've been able to be home and do all I can with Bob to ensure him being a great Christian man. More...
Bringing Hope to Hurricane Victims
by Shawn Robinson
For six traumatizing days, Shiprah Benlevi Downing and her husband Lloyd Coffey Jr. lived in New Orlean’s Superdome with little to care for their 4-month-old child. The power went out, water and toilets quit working, and violence erupted. “No one was safe,” Lloyd said. “It was every man for himself.” An airlift and a bus ride later, this young family is finding new hope in Texas, where they were greeted by World Vision volunteers. Giving Update
from Brad Carter
| Giving Update | Budget | Actual Giving |
|---|---|---|
| Year to Date | $188,959 | $163,651 |
| September | $44,754 | $38,357 |
| Week of Sept. 11th | $22,377 | $22,252 |
Last week's giving was right on target for what is needed to support our current vision. A small gap still exists in our year-to-date numbers that we would like to close so we can meet our ministry goals this month.
