Summer is Fading

Summer has been fun and busy for the worship team, yet also filled with challenges and pain. We kicked off our summer with some great team events. Scheduling team times together helped us stay connected as we all tend to go our own separate ways and disconnect with one another during these busy months. Building a family atmosphere and blessing one another through close relationships has always been our priority in worship ministries. Our 2nd annual team retreat at Lake Tulloch was a huge success and we all felt a great sense of closeness as we camped, got wet and dirty, and played.

We have also been gearing up for our 2nd annual Great Labor Day Derby this summer. Dancers, singers, musicians, and lots of behind the scenes teams have put a lot of effort into blessing our community through music.

This summer, Bob and I also took two of our worship leaders, Jacob and Spencer, to a conference in Australia for 10 days. We spent most of our days with 30,000 other people focused on learning different aspects of leading worship. We had an incredible time of growth and closeness together, and we know we’ll treasure that time forever. Sadly, just after this trip Spencer’s accident happened and the worship team has rallied to support him and his family through prayer, visits, and encouragement cards. Four of his family members are a part of our team so this really hit us hard. We continue to pray for his healing, and especially that he’ll be joining us on stage again as soon as possible.

Singers, Come Forth!

If you’ve ever thought about singing on the worship team, Fall is a great time to enter in! After a full summer off, our singers are now ready to jump back in and we would love to see our choir double in numbers. Not only is singing on the team a lot of fun, it’s a great way to express yourself through worship and be a blessing to our church. If you are interested in joining, please don’t hesitate to give me a call!

Fall Vocal Workshop

If you’ve ever wanted to improve your singing or speaking voice, we hope you’ll plan to join us for our 1st Vocal Workshop on October 29th from 10:30-2:00 at the church office. Everyone interested is encouraged to attend and join our team singers as we learn and grow in this area together. We are planning for this to be a fun and engaging time so don’t hesitate to join us!

Opportunity to Reach Out

Auditions have been underway for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, so as Fall winds down keep an eye out for play dates and times. We know this will blessing to our community if we all make an effort to reach beyond the walls of our church and invite our family and neighbors. This fun and inspiring play is being put on by our very own drama ministry. What a great opportunity for us to bring people who might never join us on a Sunday morning.

Blessings everyone, and we’ll see you all at church!
