Hello Students and Parents!

Hope everyone had a great summer. We in Five17 had a blast! From the pool to the beach to the redwood forest, from working hard for the City of Clayton to playing hard at Great America there was never a dull moment. And we have an exciting year ahead of us beginning with a Fall Schedule that seeks to bless our surrounding community.

So how can we bless our community both locally and worldwide? We are going to challenge our students to participate in financially supporting students in other countries to help reach their education goals. Also, we want to be part of supporting the community locally through more work projects for the city’s maintenance division who are very grateful for volunteer labor for projects they are behind on. We will be returning to Habitat for Humanity for work on their new 4-home project in Antioch that begins this fall and also continue to serve at the City Team Rescue Mission in Oakland. Our goal this year is to truly live beyond our own needs and goals in order to be the blessing God created us to be!

Five17 meets Sundays at 10:45am at DVMS and Thursdays from 7-9pm at our Downtown Community Center on Main Street (across from Skipolini’s Pizza). Join us Sunday mornings for worship, teaching and discussion as we discover together the incredible plan God has for our lives. Thursday nights are a great place to bring a friend to enjoy games, skits, music, an encouraging message, and the opportunity to join a small group of other students your own age.

Please welcome some new additions to our Five17 Ministry Team: Ed Cleland, Kelly Coppa, and Sarah Davidson. Our returning team members are Chip Bishop, Donna Richey, Jenn Weiss, Maz Ameli, Liza Cota, Courtny Cota, Roland Engle, Melody Benway and Terry Henderson. This group of dedicated and talented adults are invaluable to what makes Five17 such a special ministry.
